Abstract

The anchor is particularly for heavy buoys, drilling rigs etc., and comprises two or more anchors alongside each other. Each has a triangular baseplate or fluke (4-6) joined to a shank (1-3). The flukes are joined together by a composite baseplate (10). The shank ends furthest from the flukes can be joined together by a further plate (7), typically in the form of a hollow triangular-section beam, and the front surface of the latter can be inclined to the shank axes at an angle 20-25 deg. greater than the angle between flukes and axes. Recesses (8) can be provided in the beam for the attachment of the end lines of a duplex chain.
