Abstract

The apparatus has a chamber, to which the infusion fluid is delivered in drops, connected via a flexible tube to the patient, there being a release unit in the tube operated by a timing device to regulate the drip rate. A photoelectric cell generates a blocking signal for the release unit each time a drop arrives in the chamber. Drip frequency is regulated by an adjustable counter set to the desired value by feeding adjusting impulses to it. The counter, having a separate output for each of the adjustable frequencies, can work in conjunction with an interval generator, the outputs of both being connected to a comparator, emitting a release signal to the release unit at the appropriate interval.
