Abstract

The machine comprises a mobile chassis on which a drilling platform is mounted. The drilling mechanism (50) and the platform (7) are supported by a boom (5), whose length (1) is a multiple of the superstructure width (b). The boom can be supported by a hoist rope (23) reeved to a winch (24) via a pulley (21) at the head of a jib (16) mounted on the superstructure (4). The boom can be arranged to pivot on both horizontal and vertical axes, and the drill bit guide can be arranged to tilt in relation to the platform in two planes at right angles to each other, and on horizontal axes.
