978,473. Earth-trenching machines. CLEVELAND TRENCHER CO. July 13, 1962, No. 26980/62. Heading E1F. In a trenching machine a boom 18 carrying an endless digging unit is pivotally connected inwards of one end to an adjacent carriage 150 vertically movable on a mast 16 mounted on the chassis of the machine. Pivotal and vertical movement of the boom is obtained upon predetermined actuation of two hoist systems, preferably cable hoists, acting between the two ends of the boom and the mast structure. The buckets of the endless digging unit are those of the referred to Specification 978,474.
