Abstract

A photo-conducting compsn. contains a carbazole polymer in which is not 0.1 esp. 0.1-15% of the carbazole functional units have the structure (where X is a structural unit of the polymer) The compsn. is strongly photo-sensitive, is easy to produce, is capable of intra-mol. charge transfer, and contains in 1 polymer unit an electro-donating centre and an electro-accepting centre. The compsn. shows good spectral response in the visible spectrum.
