Abstract

Compsn. candles with a porous structure are produced by melting together the components and allowing the mixt. to cool to the point at which it can be foamed by hand or mechanically, forming a mass filled with air bubbles and still having a viscosity permitting it to be moulded. By a correct choice of the components at the correct temp. an equilibrium between the pressure of the bubbles and the surrounding mass is achieved which persists through the coagulation stage. Product has attractive appearance and good burning qualities without over-melting.
