Abstract

The engine arrangement enables a double pulse cycle to be produced from the conventional diesel system. Filtered air is compressed in a turbocharger (E), and fed to an inlet duct (F) after coding. The diesel oil fuel is fed from a high level tank through a duct to a hollow coaxial pipe (P), and a fluid barrier plate (Q) to a pressure-time spray (PT), typically as produced by the Cumming Engine Co. (RTM). A variable fuel gear feed pump is driven through a large gear-wheel. A sliding plate and cam system are used to regulate the pneumatic pressure and revolution speed of the pump to augment power output of the cycle. The system includes a thermostat to maintain a cylinder wall temperature of 150 deg. to assist cold starts.
