Abstract

The pump has a rotor working in a cylindrical housing with two end walls, one at least of which is in the form of a detachable cover, also a detachable inner housing. Part at least of the inner housing is grooved on its side towards the inside of the pump housing, and it can be made of rubber or other resilient material. The grooves can be coaxial, and the inner housing can be composed of grooved sections, which are separable. It can have inserts of stiff material, by which it is secured to the pump housing. The advantage is that the grooves fill up with sand and grit in service, forming a hard-wearing protective layer over the surface of the inner housing.
