Abstract

A copying machine for developing and printing of latent electrostatic images formed on a recording medium. A liquid ink is attached electrostatically to the images and the inked images are first transferred to an intermediate carrier and then to the main carrier. The ink is applied selectively to the charged particles of the image by force of attraction. The process is repeated enabling a large number of reproductions of the original. Those sections of the recording medium where no images are formed are wetted with water before application of the ink. The intermediate surface is on a rubber roller which is mechanically transported to the main drum for transfer of images.
