Abstract

To reduce detection range of military uniforms by infra red battlefield surveillance equipment of the fully active type, yarn or woven textile is treated with lamp black at either the fibre or the yarn and/or the woven stabe. The material is esp. khaki dyed, using dispersing dyestuff after spinning approx. 9:1 mixt. of white polyester fibres and black polyester fibres treated with lamp black.
