Abstract

Dust is immobilised and agglomerated into a compact mass adhering to a substrate e.g. in coal mines or asbestos plants, by contacting the dust with a non-irritating aqs. soln. contg. a polymer and pref. an amphoteric and anionic surface active agent. The wt. ratio of surface active agents: polymer is 1-100:1 pref. 10-7:1. The fixed dust is dried by slow heating.
