Abstract

Table provided with >=1 profiled leg, partic. a sewing machine table, as well as a leg for such a table, in which (a) the leg(s) consist(s) of two parts sliding telescopically in and out of each other, fabricated from sheet metal with V-shaped cross section with the same included angle, the ends of each limb of the section having parts bent towards each other so as to provide a slot between them, (b) the inwardly directed parts of >=1 of the legs are additionally turned inwardly parallel to each other, (c) a clamping bolt and nut is fitted in the slot and carries on it an element of U-shape cross section, which engages the inwardly turned in parts described in (b) and lie against the facing parts of the other leg described in (a) generally in such a way that on tightening up the nut and bolt the two legs are rigidly clamped to each other. One of the legs parts has a base plate fixed to it for supporting the table while the other has a support for the table itself.
