Abstract

Candle making press has a die in which candle wax in powder form is supplied from a top mounted hopper. The dies has a pneumatic operated reciprocating bottom closure comprising two overlapping discs. From a top mounted reel a continuous wick length is fed through the die, whilst a press plunger with longitudinal wick aperture is supported from two lateral main frame arms and carries out a vertical reciprocating movement compressing the granulated candle wax. A thin steel wire is roller guided and attached at one end to the press plunger top, at the other end to a varied counterweights which moves between 3 superimposed contact switches in a guide frame external to the press. A cutter severs the wick after each filling/compressing sequence.
