Abstract
Ruthenium complexes of formula I are prepared by reacting CO with a compound of formula II - V: (Diket)2Ru(CO)2 (Diket)3Ru (Diket)2Ru(CO)2 I II III (Diket)2Ru(CO)L (Diket)2RuL2 IV V (where Diket is a group of formula VI; and L is a mono- or polyfunctional ligand which is not a beta-diketone). (where R1 and R3 are each alkyl, haloalkyl, aryl, or haloaryl; R2 is the same as R1 or is H; two of groups R1, R2 and R3 can be alkylene, or all three groups can be alkanetriyl). Used as catalyst for organic reactions such as dimerisation of acrylonitrile.
