Abstract

A pipe open at both ends is sunk vertically into the liquid esp. water and gas is blown into the lower end so that a gas and fluid stream flows up the tube and follows helical channels within it and produced such turbulence that the jet of gas is distributed and can be absorbed by the fluid. Esp. used for aerating town water supplies.
