Abstract
A mixture of TiO2 and Al powder (TiO2 between 99 and 50, Al between 1 and 50% by weight, more specifically 97-80/3-20) is sintered in an oxidizing atmosphere at 650-950, particularly 800-900 degrees C. A temporary binder may be used to form shapes. The sintered product is strong in compression, has a large surface area and a high pore volume. Used as carrier for V/Mo catalyst in benzene oxidation etc.
