Abstract
A sintered semiconductor film is prepared applying an aqueous mixture, including a halide fusing agent and cadmium sulphide and/or cadmium selenide, to a substrate heated to a temperature of at least 100 degrees C. The heat of the substrate causes the water in the mixture to evaporate and further heating sinters the mixture without causing cracks or pin holes to appear. The semiconductor film may be used in a photoelectric element by placing an electrode on one side of the film and a transparent or grid electrode on the other.
