Abstract

The central layer of fire retardant material has layers of rigid expanded polystyrene (7,8) glued to each side. The outer faces of the polystyrene are machined to provide a two-level (3,4) flat profile, covered with matching profiled metal sheets (1,2), glued in place on both sides. The joints between panels are formed by male and female profiles formed by roll-forming the edges of the metal facing skins. Slots are formed within the joints by grooves (10,11) machined in the edges of the fire retardant layer. Tongues inserted in the slots ensure continuity of the fire protection.
