Abstract

There is provided an electrolysis furnace group and an electrolysis method using the same, which relates to the technical field of rare-earth metallurgical equipment and use thereof. The electrolysis furnace group comprises a main power source (12), at least two electrolysis furnaces and at least one auxiliary power source (13), wherein, each of the electrolysis furnaces comprises a cathode (31) and an anode (36), a positive electrode of the main power source (12) is connected to the anode (36) of a first electrolysis furnace, the anode (36) of each subsequent electrolysis furnace is connected to the cathode (31) of its previous electrolysis furnace, and the cathode (31) of the last electrolysis furnace is connected to a negative electrode of the main power source (12), the circuit that supplies power to the electrolysis furnaces from the main power source (12) forms a main circuit (41); a positive electrode of the auxiliary power source (13) is connected to the anode (36) of the corresponding electrolysis furnace, and a negative electrode of the auxiliary power source (13) is connected to the cathode (31) of the corresponding electrolysis furnace. The electrolysis furnace group has the following advantages: flexible control, convenient to use, high energy utilization and low power consumption. The energy consumption for unit product decreases along with increase of the total number of electrolysis furnaces that operate in the electrolysis furnace group.
