Abstract
A porous material, a catalyst composition employing the porous material, and a method for preparing the porous material are provided. The porous material includes 98-99.5 parts by weight of fumed silica and 0.5-2 parts by weight of metal oxide. In particular, the porous material has a specific surface area of between 650 m2/g and 700 m2/g. The metal oxide is selected from a group consisting of magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, iron oxide, potassium oxide, and titanium oxide. FIG. 3
