Abstract
Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a flowing concrete mixture that is able to self- consolidation under its own weight and able to occupy in the formwork without any vibration. The highly fluid nature of SCC makes it suitable for placing in difficult conditions and in sections with congested reinforcement. Common materials in SCC are cement, coarse aggregate, sand, filler or powder, super plasticizer, viscosity agent and water. The materials used in SCC mixture which are obtained conventional method can be costly and may not be environmental friendly. It is crucial to replace some of the materials from alternative source while maintaining the quality. According to the present invention, a self- compacting concrete comprising cement, sand, water, super plasticizer, viscosity agent, coarse aggregate and powder; wherein said powder is asphalt dust waste; said cement is 300 to 550 kg/m3 of the mixture; and said asphalt dust waste is up to 30% by volumetric of said coarse aggregate.
