THE SCREWCAP (1) FROM PLASTIC MATERIAL TO CLOSE A FILLING AND/OR DISCHARGING SOCKET OF A CONTAINER HAS A CENTRAL BUNG SOCKET (7) THAT CAN BE CLOSED BY A BUNG PLUG (8). THE BUNG PLUG (8) HAS A CYLINDRICAL SCREW-IN SLEEVE (9) WITH AN EXTERNAL THREAD (10) FOR SCREWING IT INTO THE THREADED BORE (11) OF THE BUNG SOCKET (7) OF THE SCREWCAP (1) AS WELL AS A SEALING END (12), SAID SEALING END BEING PROVIDED WITH A TAPERED MULTIPLE SEAL (13) FORMED BY SEALING RINGS (14) WHICH IN THE CASE OF A SCREWED-IN BUNG PLUG (8) ARE PRESSED AGAINST A TAPERED INTERNAL SEALING SURFACE (18) OF A SEALING NECK (19) ADJOINING THE THREADED BORE (11) OF THE BUNG SOCKET (7) OF THE SCREWCAP (1).
