Abstract

THE INVENTION REFERS TO A PROCESS FOR HOT DIP GALVANISING OF HOT ROLLED STEEL STRIP AS WELL AS A HOT STRIP GALVANISING INSTALLATION.IN AN INITIAL PROCESS STEP, THE STRIP (50) TO BE GALVANISED IS INTRODUCED INTO A PICKLING STATION (10) AND IN THERE THE SCALE LAYER AS WELL AS THE REACTION PRODUCTS ARE REMOVED FROM THE SURFACE OF THE STRIP.IN THE FOLLOWING WORKING STEP, THE STRIP (50) IS INTRODUCED INTO A RINSING STATION (20) AND IN THERE THE RESIDUES OF THE PICKLING AGENT AND THE PICKLING PRODUCTS ARE REMOVED FROM THE SURFACE OF THE STRIP.SUBSEQUENTLY, THE STRIP (50) IS INTRODUCED IN THE COURSE OF ANOTHER PROCESS STEP INTO A FURNACE (40) AND IN THERE HEATED UP UNDER SHIELDING GAS ATMOSPHERE TO GALVANISING TEMPERATURE, PASSED IN A FINAL PROCESS STEP THROUGH A GALVANISING BATH IN THE COURSE OF WHICH IT IS COATED WITH A HOT DIP GALVANISING LAYER.THE PROCESS IS IMPROVED BY THE FACT THAT THE STRIP (50) IS HEATED UP IN THE FURNACE (40) TO A TEMPERATURE THAT RANGES AT A MAXIMUM 50 ? K ABOVE THE DIPPING TEMPERATURE OF THE BATH IN THE GALVANISING BATH.(FIG 2)
