Abstract
OVERLAYING IS PERFORMED ON A FERROUS BASE METAL BY A MIG (METAL INERT GAS ARC) WELDING MACHINE. COMPONENTS OF A WIRE 30 EMPLOYED IN WELDING BECOME A MATRIX OF OVERLAID LAYER L. A FIXED QUANTITY OF SINTERED HARD ALLOY PARTICLES G IS ADDED INTO A MOLTEN POOL P UNDER WELDING. PARTICLE DIAMETER OF PARTICLES G IS SPECIFIED 0.5 TO 3.0MM, AND SINTERED HARD ALLOY PARTICLES ARE DISPERSED INTO THE MATRIX EVENLY OCCUPYING 30 TO 70BY WEIGHT OF THE ENTIRE OVERLAID LAYER. AS A RESULT, AN ADVANTAGE CAN BE ATTAINED SUCH THAT THE MOST SUITABLE WEAR RESISTANT MATERIALS FOR VARIOUS WEAR CONDITIONS MAY BE EASILY PRODUCED BY SELECTING A MATERIAL FOR MATRIX AMONG A WIDE RANGE OF METALS AND BY A MIG WELDING MACHINE POPULARLY USED IN GENERAL.(FIGURE 1)(FIG. 1)
