A PANEL WASHING APPARATUS FOR A CATHODE RAY TUBE COMPRISES A WASHING ROLLER (3) INSTALLED TO BE CAPABLE OF ROTATING, ADVANCING AND RETREATING BY AN OPERATIONAL DEVICE, A GROOVE (4) FORMED IN THE OUTER CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE WASHING ROLLER (3), AND A NOZZLE (5) FOR EJECTING CLEANSING WATER INTO THE GROOVE (4). THE DEFLECTION OF THE CLEANSING WATER CAN BE SUPPRESSED BY EJECTING THE CLEANSING WATER INTO THE GROOVE (4), SO THAT THE RATE OF INFERIOR FACEPANELS IS REDUCED RESULTING IN RAISED PRODUCTIVITY.
