THE INVENTION RELATES TO A GAS BOTTLE VALVE (10) HAVING A CASING (16) TO THE TOP PORTION (12) OF WHICH A PRESSURE REGULATOR A CAN BE ATTACHED FOR TAPPING LIQUEFIED GAS. AN ACTUATING PIN B OF THE REGULATOR SERVES TO OPERATE A CHECK VALVE (20). A SPRING-BIASSED PLUG (28) EXTENDS INTO A SLIDEWAY (26) OF THE TOP PORTION (12). A FIRST O-RING SEAL (30) IS ARRANGED EITHER ON THE PLUG (28) OR AT THE SLIDEWAY (26) AND IS FOLLOWED BY A SECOND O-RING SEAL (32) DOWNSTREAM. THE TOP PORTION (12) MAY BE INTEGRAL WITH THE CASING (16) OR BE A DETACHABLE COMPONENT. PREFERABLY, THE PLUG (28) IS OFFSET IN DIAMETER AND IS SNUGLY FITTED IN THE SLIDEWAY (26) BUT HAS RADIAL CLEARANCE IN THE OUTER OPENING (40) OF THE TOP PORTION (12).THE PLUG (28) MAY BE GUIDED IN A CAGE (42) WITH OR BY AT LEAST ONE SHOULDER (34).
