Abstract
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A STACKABLE BULK DRUM COMPRISING A SUBSTANTIALLY CYLINDRICAL OUTER DRUM WALL AND DRUM TOP END AND DRUM BOTTOM END.TO IMPROVE STACKING PROPERTIES, IN PARTICULAR THE LONG- TERM STACKING QUALITY, A WALL- SUPPORTIVE INTERNAL HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE IS BUILT UP WHEN STACKING SEVERAL DRUMS ON TOP OF EACH OTHER IN THE DRUMS STACKED AT THE BOTTOM IN THE FREE UPPER GAS SPACE AND IN THE DRUMFILLING, THE TOP DRUM END 32 OR/AND THE BOTTOM DRUM END 34 FIRST YIELDING ELASTICALLY, BEFORE THE STACK LOADING CAN BE TRANSMITTED OVER THE OUTER BARREL WALL AND UPPER HANDLINGRING 38 INTO THE PLASTIC DRUM WALL 30 AND A PROPPING OF THE STACK LOAD ENSUES OVER THE LOWER BARREL WALL AND LOWER HANDLINGRING 40.
