Abstract
THE DEVICE IS CONCEIVED AS NH3 REACTOR AND MAINLY CONSISTS OF A PRESSURE VESSEL HOUSING AT LEAST TWO HEAT EXCHANGERS SERIES CONNECTED AND INSTALLED CONCENTRICALLY IN CATALYST BEDS. THE AIM OF THIS INVENTION IS TO PROVIDE FOR A SIMPLE CONSTRUCTION PERMITTING AN OPTIMUM COOLING OF THE VESSEL WALL WITH THE AID OF LOOP OR PROCESS GAS, AN OPTIMIZATION OF THE PRE-HEATING OF SAID GAS AND AN IMPROVEMENT OF THE GAS-STREAM PATTERN WITHIN THE VESSEL, THE LATTER BEING PREFERABLY EQUIPPED WITH MORE THAN TWO CATALYST BEDS. THE AIM IS ACHIEVED AS FOLLOWS: THE CHANNEL 16 OF THE SECOND HEAT EXCHANGER 8 HAS ARADIAL LATERAL AND/OR BOTTOM INLET 17 FOR AT LEAST A PART STREAM OF THE LOOP GAS FED TO THE UPPER PART OF PRESSURE VESSEL 2 AND COOLING THE SHELL.
