"UN MÉTODO Y UN DISPOSITIVO PARA EXPANDIR UN CUERPO BAJO SOBREPRESION"
CAMPO DE LA INVENCIÓN Esta invención se refiere a un método para expandir un cuerpo bajo sobrepresión. Más particularmente, se refiere a la expansión de un cuerpo que se encuentra hecho de un material elástico que tiene una porción considerable de cavidades cerradas, permitiendo el material la difusión de un fluido a través del material y hacia dentro de las cavidades. El método es particularmente adecuado para las operaciones en tierra, en las cuales un cuerpo de esta clase, cuando desciende a la posición deseada, se comprime por la sobrepresión prevaleciente, después de la cual se esparce un fluido, durante algún tiempo, a través del material y hacia dentro de las cavidades. Alternativamente, las cavidades se abren y se mantienen en compresión durante la inserción en un área de presión elevada. La invención incluye también un dispositivo para practicar el método.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN Los cuerpos de esta clase pueden tener un cierto número de aplicaciones, por ejemplo, como un empacador anular en un pozo subterráneo. En esta descripción, para ilustrar la operación, tal aplicación se ha tomado como el punto de inicio. El ejemplo no limita de ninguna manera el uso del cuerpo a este ejemplo. Completar un pozo de petróleo mediante una pantalla de arena en un orificio abierto es un método sencillo y confiable para completar una sección de depósito. Un pozo de petróleo normalmente penetra las formaciones de diversas propiedades de producción. Estas diferentes propiedades pueden conducir a que un fluido de pozo no deseado de un área fluya a través de la pantalla de arena y además hacia dentro de la tubería de producción. Consecuentemente, puede ser deseable clausurar un área al flujo de fluido. Esta clausura debe tener lugar en el anillo entre la pantalla de arena y el orificio del pozo. De acuerdo con la técnica anterior, tal clausura se efectúa por ejemplo, mediante empacadores anulares inflables que se colocan en una posición deseada, y que se activan después mediante un equipo relativamente complicado. Algunas veces ha resultado difícil alcanzar la estanqueidad a la presión mediante el uso de empacadores de esta clase. La patente NO 312478 describe un empacador que se encuentra hecho de un material inflable. Después de que el empacador se ha colocado en una posición deseada, el material del empacador absorbe un fluido y consecuentemente se infla hasta que sella el anillo. En algunos pozos, por ejemplo, cuando se produce gas seco, puede ser difícil alcanzar un inflado suficiente del material empacador.
BREVE DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓN La invención tiene como objeto remediar las desventajas de la técnica anterior. El objeto se realiza de acuerdo con la invención mediante las características especificadas en la descripción a continuación y en las siguientes reivindicaciones . Al colocar un cuerpo que se encuentra hecho de un material elástico con una porción considerable de cavidades cerradas, el material que permite la difusión de un fluido a través del material hacia dentro de las cavidades, en un área donde es prevaleciente la sobrepresión, el material se comprimirá, en particular a través de la reducción del volumen de las cavidades y consecuentemente el del material . Con el transcurso del tiempo se dispersa un fluido circundante a través del material hacia dentro de las cavidades, por lo que el cuerpo se expande hacia dentro de sus dimensiones esencialmente originales, posiblemente hasta que se evita la expansión adicional por cuerpos adyacentes . Alternativamente, el material elástico puede formarse con muchas cavidades abiertas, manteniéndose el material en compresión, por ejemplo, mediante un material de compresión, de manera que las cavidades se encuentran al menos comprimidas parcialmente durante la inserción del material dentro de un área de presión elevada. Después de que se ha colocado el material en el área en cuestión, se libera el material de su estado comprimido, por lo que el fluido fluye hacia dentro de las cavidades del material. Por lo tanto, el material se expande a su tamaño esencialmente original. Los cuerpos de esta clase son adecuados para su aplicación también en pozos de agua y pozos de gas secos, en los que los materiales mflables son utilizables solamente hasta cierto grado.
BREVE DESCRIPCIÓN DE LOS DIBUJOS A continuación se describe un ejemplo no limitante de un método y modalidad preferidos que son visualizados en los dibujos acompañantes, en los cuales: La Figura 1 muestra una tubería de producción con una pantalla de arena en un pozo subterráneo, en el que se disponen empacadores anulares de acuerdo con la invención a fin de limitar el área de admisión de la pantalla de arena;
La Figura 2 muestra, a mayor escala, un corte transversal de la Figura 1; La Figura 3 muestra una tubería expansible que se encuentra provista externamente de un manguito de material expansible comprimido antes de que tenga lugar la expansión; y La Figura 4 muestra la misma tubería que en la Figura 3 después de que ha tenido lugar la expansión de la tubería expansible y el material.
DESCRIPCIÓN DETALLADA DE LA INVENCIÓN En los dibujos, el número de referencia 1 identifica un pozo subterráneo en una formación 2 de depósito. Una tubería 4 de producción que incluye una pantalla 6 de arena se coloca en el pozo subterráneo 1. El fluido del pozo, indicado en la Figura 1 por las flechas 8, fluye desde la formación 2 de depósito hacia la tubería 4 de producción a través de la pantalla 6 de arena. El pozo subterráneo 1 forma un área de sobrepresión debido a la altura de a columna de fluido del pozo. Con objeto de clausurar el flujo de fluido hacia dentro de la tubería 4 de producción desde áreas adyacentes, se han establecido empacadores anulares 10. Los empacadores anulares 10, ver la Figura 2, se encuentran hechos de un material elástico 12 con una porción considerable de cavidades cerradas 14, permitiendo el material la difusión de un fluido a través del material 12 hacia dentro de las cavidades 14. El material 12 puede ser de caucho de nitplo, por ejemplo. El material 12 puedo proporcionarse con uno o más refuerzos 16, por ejemplo, en forma de tela de fibra. El paquete anular 10 se encuentra formado con una dimensión transversal algo mayor que la dimensión transversal de la abertura que se va a llenar. Cuando el empacador anular 10 se extiende hacia adentro del pozo subterráneo 1, las cavidades 14 del material se comprimen debido a una presión estática creciente. Consecuentemente, el empacador anular 10 puede moverse fácilmente hacia delante dentro de la posición deseada. La difusión del fluido a través del material 12 hacia dentro de las cavidades 14 del material 12 comenzará inmediatamente. Las cavidades 14 se rellenan consecuentemente, de manera que la presión dentro de las cavidades 14 será aproximadamente igual a la presión prevaleciente en el empacador anular 10. Consecuentemente, el empacador anular 10 intentará adoptar su forma original. Si el diámetro del pozo subterráneo es más pequeño que el diámetro original del paquete anular 10, el paquete anular 10 se cerrará herméticamente contra la pared 18 de formación del pozo subterráneo 1, alternativamente contra una cubierta, no mostrada, si el pozo subterráneo 1 se encuentra cubierto. En una modalidad alterna, ver las Figuras 3 y 4, se proporciona una tubería expansible 20 con un manguito 22 circundante de un material 24 que tiene cavidades de tipo poro. Antes de la inserción dentro del pozo subterráneo 1, el material 24 del manguito 22 se comprime por medio de un material de precarga circundante. El material 26 de precarga puede formarse, por ejemplo, por una tela de fibra. Después de que la tubería expansible 20 se ha colocado en una posición deseada, la tubería expansible 20 se expande, por lo que el estalla material 26 de precarga. La expansión del manguito 22 tiene lugar después al hacer fluir el fluido hacia dentro de las cavidades del material 24, por lo que el manguito 22 se expande en su forma original.

Un método para expandir un cuerpo (10, 22) bajo sobrepresión donde el cuerpo (10, 22) se forma de un material elástico (12, 24) con una porción considerable de cavidades cerradas (14), y donde el cuerpo (10, 22) se comprime cuando es colocado en un área (1) de sobrepresión, caracterizado porque el cuerpo (10, 22) se expande por difusión del fluido presente en el cuerpo (10, 22) a través del material elástico (12) y hacia dentro de las cavidades (14) . 2. Un método según la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque el cuerpo (10, 22) se comprime por la presión actuante cuando es colocado en el área (1) de sobrepresión.
- 3. Un método según la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque el cuerpo (10, 22) se comprime por un material (26) de precarga antes de que el cuerpo (10, 22) se coloque en un área (1) de sobrepresión.
- 4. Un dispositivo de un cuerpo expansible (10, 22) en el que el cuerpo (10, 22) se forma de un material elástico (12, 24) con una porción considerable de cavidades cerradas, y que se coloca, en forma comprimida, en un área de sobrepresión, caracterizado porque el cuerpo (10, 22) se encuentra hecho de un material inflable.
