Abstract
La presente invencion esta dirigida a los medios para alterar la afinidad y/o especificidad de union de un compuesto con una secuencia de ADN en el surco menor de una doble hebra del mismo; mas particularmente, la presente invencion esta dirigida a un compuesto sintetico y/o de origen no natural (por ejemplo, un analogo de un oligomero o polimero de poliamida) que contiene al menos un resto dador de enlace de hidrogeno y al menos un resto aceptor de enlace de hidrogeno, en el que el resto anterior o "bloque de construccion" tiene una estructura biciclica condensada que es heteroaromatica, teniendo dicha estructura un heteroatomo en la misma que actua como un aceptor de enlace de hidrogeno para unirse a guanina en el surco menor de la secuencia del ADNdh, y que es incapaz de formar un tautomero, en una modalidad particular del compuesto sintetico y/o de origen no natural, la estructura biciclica condensada ocupa una posicion terminal primera o inicial en el compuesto.
