Abstract

La presente divulgacion proporciona composiciones que comprenden una pluralidad de aglomerados que comprenden un componente polisacarido que comprende xilosa y arabinosa, en donde la proporcion de xilosa a arabinosa es de por lo menos aproximadamente 3:1, en peso; en donde las composiciones ademas comprenden: (i) opcionalmente, una primera capa circundante que rodea el aglomerado, en donde la primera capa circundante es una capa hidrofoba; y (ii) opcionalmente, una segunda capa circundante que rodea el aglomerado, en donde la segunda capa circundante es una capa hidrofilica; en donde las composiciones comprenden al menos una de la primera capa circundante y la segunda capa circundante, y en donde cuando el aglomerado comprende la primera capa circundante y la segunda capa circundante entonces la primera capa circundante es una capa precedente en relacion con la segunda capa circundante; en otra modalidad, la divulgacion proporciona composiciones que comprenden una pluralidad de particulas de polisacarido, en donde las particulas de polisacarido comprenden un componente polisacarido que comprende xilosa y arabinosa, en donde la proporcion de la xilosa a la arabinosa es de por lo menos aproximadamente 3:1, en peso, y en donde las particulas de polisacarido tienen una distribucion de tamano medio de particula de aproximadamente 0.001 micras a 150 micras, en donde cada una de las particulas de polisacarido, de manera independiente, comprenden: (i) opcionalmente, una primera capa circundante que rodea la particula, en donde la primera capa circundante es una capa hidrofoba; y (ii) opcionalmente, una segunda capa circundante que rodea la particula, en donde la segunda capa circundante es una capa hidrofilica; en donde cada una de las particulas de polisacarido, de manera independiente, comprenden por lo menos una de la primera capa circundante y la segunda capa circundante, y en donde cuando la particula comprende la primera capa circundante y la segunda capa circundante entonces la primera capa circundante es una capa precedente en relacion con la segunda capa circundante; las composiciones de la presente son utiles para proporcionar diversos beneficios que incluyen el tratamiento de trastornos gastrointestinales o el suministro de otros beneficios en el sistema gastrointestinal.
