Abstract
Described herein are metallic beams formed by a rectangular-shaped plate and a pyramidal section simultaneously comprising high resistance steel rods attached therebetween in a zigzag manner by a high resistance steel wire. The beams are characterized in that the lower rods are attached to the metallic sheet plate by pins resulting from apertures performed in said plate. The beams are manufactured out in workshops and useful in building slabs, said beams being placed in a parallel relationship over walls so as to support slab constructive elements.
Description
METAL BEAMS FOR BUILDING SLABS BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
At present there are reinforced concrete beams that are used for the construction of prefabricated slabs, which have the disadvantage of a considerable weight, which complicates transport and placement maneuvers in buildings. Said beams also present the drawback of not being able to standardize to cover the required spaces and the work risks increase with the height of the building. On the other hand, they result in high manufacturing and installation costs.
To solve the aforementioned problems, a new high strength metal beam has been devised, but much lighter than the aforementioned concrete beams. Said invention relates to a metallic profile composed of three high resistance rods distributed in the form of a triangular section, joined by two zigzag smooth wires and a black or galvanized sheet steel skate. Said metal beam is manufactured off-site and can be produced industnally in standardized form for slabs and other construction elements. The lightness of said metallic beam considerably increases labor yields and reduces costs and risks in maneuvers and freight. Unlike the reinforced concrete beam, the design of the metal beam of the present invention allows the placement of the beam continuously, regardless of the size of the space, since it is feasible to overlap one beam over another.
Another advantage of the present invention, is referred to the fact that metal beams are placed in parallel supported on walls and support all the constructive elements of a slab, which eliminates the use of contact formwork and makes the process simple constructive that allows self-construction.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The characteristic details of this novel metal beam are clearly shown in the following description and in the accompanying drawings. - Figure 1 is a perspective view of a metal beam of the present invention.
- Figure 2 is a plan view of the metal beam in question. - Figure 3 shows the elevation of the metal beam with part of its structure. - Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view of the metal beam - Figure 5 is a perspective view of the metal sheet skate with its rectangular perforations. - Figure 6 is a plan view of a section of slab with the placement of metal beams and vaults. - Figure 7 shows a view of the cross section of a slab reinforced with metal beams, vaults and reinforcing metal mesh.
The metal beams are shaped, as can be seen in the referenced figures of an upper rope (1) of high strength steel rod, interconnected to a pair of lower ropes (2) of the same material., By means of a stirrup (3) of high strength steel wire in zigzag, forming a pyramidal figure as shown in Figure 1. The pair of lower ropes (2) of high strength steel rod, are subject to a metal sheet skate (4) by means of clips (5) product of rectangular perforations made to said sheet skate (4) in equidistant positions, from which protuberances in the form of small rectangles (6) attached to the skate skate (4) are produced by one of the sides. Said rectangles (6) thrown from the foil shoe (4) hold the lower cords (2) when they are wrapped and adjusted by pressure, finally forming the fasteners (5). Figure 6 is a sectional plan view of a slab in which metal beams (7) of the present invention have been placed. Said figure also shows the way to place the vaults (8) between metal beams (7) fastened by a polypropylene thread (9) and all these elements make up most of a lightened slab, since the slabs (8) can be made of polystyrene or other lightweight material and thermal insulation. Figure 7 shows a cross section of a slab with all its
5 elements The slabs (8) are placed between the metal beams (7) that function as a profile that supports said vaults and other loads of construction elements of the slabs in the buildings. Said metallic beams (7) are placed parallel to and supported on walls, and between them are the slabs (8) whose thickness depends on the thickness of the required slab. On the metallic beams and vaults, a mesh of
10 steel wire (10) and finally the last constructive element of the slab that is concrete (11)
