Abstract

Un cable para interiores (10) que tiene una pluralidad de fibras inorganicas (14) para proteger y suspender una pluralidad de fibras opticas (12) dentro de una chaqueta o forro polimerico (16). Las fibras inorganicas, de preferencia fibras de vidrio, no generan humo o fuego y de esta manera ofrecen una mejora frente a las fibras de poliaramida tradicionales empleadas como materiales de refuerzo en los cables para interiores. Una composicion de apresto se aplica a las fibras inorganicas para evitar formacion de cinta de las fibras inorganicas, de esta manera evitando atenuacion de las fibras opticas provocada por esta formacion de cinta y tambien permitir una distribucion uniforme de fibras de vidrio alrededor de las fibras opticas para proteger adicionalmente las fibras opticas.
