Abstract
Se divulgan metodos, sondas, cebadores y secuencias de acido nucleico para la identificacion sistematica de genes de esporulacion en bacterias formadas de esporas. Una sonda comprende una secuencia de acido nucleico capaz de formar un hibrido detectable con regiones altamente conservadas del gen spoOA de ciertas bacterias formadoras de esporas de especies de bacterias Bacillus y Clostridium, dicha secuencia de acido nucleico es incapaz de formar un hibrido detectable con el material genetico de bacterias no formadoras de esporas. La amplificacion de una porcion del gen spoOA a partir del ADN celular de las bacterias formadoras de esporas por una reaccion en cadena de polimerasa utilizando dicha sonda, cebador o secuencia de acido nucleico como miembro de un grupo de cebadores resulta en la generacion de un producto de ADN de 346-365 nucleotidos de largo detectable. Un metodo divulgado comprende a) la combinacion de una sonda marcada o etiquetada con una muestra, b) la hibridacion de la sonda con el gen spoOA de bacterias formadoras de esporas blanco; y c) la deteccion del producto hibridado.
