Abstract
Se proporcionan composiciones y metodos para reducir la permeabilidad de las zonas subterraneas. Mas particularmente, las composiciones polimericas solubles en agua que forman gales reticulados en la zona. En general, la composicion comprende (a) al menos un polimero soluble en agua; (b) al menos un agente organico de gelificacion con capacidad para reticular el polimero soluble en agua; y (c) al menos un formato soluble en agua. Mas preferentemente, el polimero soluble en agua es un copolimero de ( i ) al menos un monomero polar no acido etilenicamente insaturado, y ( ii ) al menos un ester copolimerizable etilenicamente insaturado. El agente de gelificacion de preferencia es seleccionado del grupo consistente de una polialquilenimina, una amina alifatica polifuncional, una aralquilamina, y una heteroalquilamina. El formato soluble en agua preferido es seleccionado del grupo consistente de formato de amonio, formato de litio, formato de sodio, formato de potasio, formato de rubidio, formato de cesio, y formato de francio, el agua es utilizada para formar una composicion acuosa antes de usarla en una formacion subterranea. Los metodos de la presente invencion para reducir la permeabilidad de una zona subterranea comprenden los pasos de introducir una composicion acuosa de acuerdo con la presente invencion dentro de una zona subterranea, y despues permitir que la composicion acuosa forme un gel reticulado en la zona.
