Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a un material semejante a láminas adecuado para usarse para encerrar y proteger diversos artículos, así como para la conservacion de materiales tales como productos alimenticios. De manera más particular, la presente invencion proporciona un material de envoltura para almacenamiento mejorado que comprende una lámina de material que tiene un primer lado y un segundo lado. El primer lado comprende un lado activo que exhibe una fuerza de desprendimiento de adhesion después de la activacion por parte de un usuario, que es mayor que una fuerza de desprendimiento de adhesion exhibida antes de la activacion por parte de un usuario. El material de envoltura para almacenamiento puede ser activado mediante diferentes formas, pero en una modalidad preferida el lado activo es activable mediante una fuerza aplicada externamente ejercida sobre la lámina del material. La fuerza puede ser una fuerza de compresion aplicada externamente, ejercida en una direccion sustancialmente normal respecto a la lámina del material. De acuerdo con la presente invencion, el material de envoltura para almacenamiento es selectivamente activable por parte de un usuario en regiones discretas para proporcionar propiedades adhesivas donde y cuando se desee. El uso de un adhesivo o una sustancia similar a un adhesivo sobre la superficie del material proporciona una fuerza de desprendimiento de adhesion después de la activacion que es suficiente para formar un sello de barrera contra una superficie objetivo por lo menos de la misma magnitud de aquella del material y la superficie objetivo de tal manera que pueden conservarse en forma efectiva artículos perecederos, tales como productos alimenticios. Los materiales de envoltura para almacenamiento de la presente invencion pueden utilizarse para encerrar y proteger una amplia variedad de artículos mediante diversos métodos de aplicacion, que incluyen la aplicacion directa al artículo deseado, encerrar el artículo deseado y asegurarlo así mismo, y/o en combinacion con un contenedor semicerrado.
