Abstract
Un sistema de comunicacion integrado que sustenta protocolos de comunicacion de TDMA o TDD multiples, e incluye medios para comunicar selectivamente de conformidad con cualquier protocolo; cada protocolo define marcos de tiempo y/o segmentos de tiempo de una duracion diferente, a partir de los cual se deriva un marco de tiempo mixto que tiene una estructura de regulacion de tiempo predefinida; una primera unidad de estacion de base comunica en una primera serie de segmentos de tiempo del marco de tiempo mixto de conformidad con un primer protocolo de TDMA o TDD, y una segunda unidad de estacion de base, que puede estar colocada dentro de dicha primera unidad de estacion de base, comunica en una segunda serie de segmentos de tiempo del marco de tiempo mixto de conformidad con un segundo protocolo de TDMA o TDD; se proveen componentes electronicos coordinadores, tales como un receptor de GPS en una o ambas unidades de estacion de base, a fin de prevenir colisiones entre comunicaciones que ocurren entre cada unidad de estacion de base y sus usuarios respectivos; en una modalidad particular, un primer protocolo de GSM, y un segundo protocolo es un protocolo de TDD, que utilizan técnicas de espectro separado; el protocolo de TDD está estructurado de tal modo que cada segmento de tiempo es dos veces la duracion de un segmento de tiempo de GSM, y cada marco de tiempo es cuatro veces la duracion de un marco de tiempo de GSM; el sistema puede comprender cierto numero de estaciones de base "apiladas" en una celda individual, cada una funcionando sobre una frecuencia diferente o utilizando codigos de separacion distintos.
