Abstract

La invencion es un método para preparar una solucion acuosa estabilizada de hipobromito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo. El método comprende las etapas de: a) mezclar una solucion acuosa de hipoclorito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo que tiene desde aproximadamente 5 por ciento hasta aproximadamente 70 por ciento de halogeno disponible como cloro con una fuente de iones bromuro soluble en agua; b) permitir que la fuente de ion bromuro y el hipoclorito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo reaccione para formar una solucion acuosa con 0.5 a 70 por ciento en peso de hipobromito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo, no estabilizada; c) agregar a la solucion no estabilizada de hipobromito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo una solucion acuosa de un sulfamato de metal alcalino en una cantidad para proporcionar una proporcion molar de sulfamato de metal alcalino respecto al hipobromito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo desde aproximadamente 0.5 hasta aproximadamente 7; y d) recuperar la solucion estabilizada de hipobromito de metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo.
