Abstract
Un procedimiento libre de dioxido de azufre para la produccion de cobre metálico de alta pureza a partir de mata de cobre, en donde la mata de cobre es lixiviada bajo condiciones de oxidacion en un ensamble de lixiviacion de electrolito de sulfato de cobre ácido incluyendo uno o más reactores de lixiviacion para producir un electrolito rico en cobre, y un cátodo de cobre es producido en un ensamble de electroextraccion, el cual está físicamente desacoplado del ensamble de lixiviacion y puede incluir una o más celdas. El procedimiento opera a presion ambiente y a temperaturas menores que el punto de ebullicion.
