Abstract
La presente invencion proporciona un artículo de vidrio absorbente de la radiacion infrarroja y ultravioleta y de color verde que tiene una transmitancia luminosa de hasta un 60 por cien. La composicion del artículo de vidrio utiliza una composicion base de vidrio standard de sosa-cal-sílice y, adicionalmente, hierro, cobalto, selenio y cromo y, eventualmente, titanio, como materiales absorbentes de la radiacion infrarroja y ultravioleta y colorantes. Los vidrios de la presente invencion tiene un color caracterizado por una longitud de inda dominante en el rango de aproximadamente 480 a 565 manometros, preferiblemente de aproximadamente 495 a 560 manometros, con una pureza de excitacion de no más de aproximadamente un 20 por cien, preferiblemente no más de aproximadamente un 10 por cien y, más preferiblemente, no más de aproximadamente un 7 por cien. Las composiciones de vidrio pueden ser dotadas de diferentes niveles de rendimiento espectral, dependiendo de la aplicacion particular y de la transmitancia luminosa deseada. En una realizacion de la invencion, la composicion de vidrio de un artículo de vidrio de sosa-cal-sílice absorbente de la radiacion infrarroja y ultravioleta y de color verde incluye una porcion absorbente de la radiacion solar y colorante consistente esencialmente en aproximadamente un 0,60 a un 4 por cien en peso de hierro total, aproximadamente un 0,13 a un 0,9 por cien en peso de FeO, aproximadamente 40 a 500 PPM de CoO, aproximadamente 5 a 70 PPM de Se, aproximadamente 15 a 800 PPM de Cr2O3 y aproximadamente un 0,02 a un 1 por cien de TiO2. En otra realizacion de la invencion, la composicion de vidrio del artículo incluye una porcion absorbente de la radiacion solar y colorante consistente esencialmente en un 1 a menos de un 1, 4 por cien en peso de hierro total, aproximadamente un 0, 2 a un 0, 6 por cien en peso de FeO, más de 200 a aproximadamente 500 PPM de CoO, aproximadamente 5 a 70 PPM de Se, más de 200 a aproximadamente 800 PPM de Cr2O3 y un 0 a aproximadamente un 1 por cien en peso de TiO2.
