Abstract

Una peptidasa que divide una insulina se ha purificado a partir de vesículas que contiene GLUT-4 y se ha clonado. La peptidasa tiene una masa medida de aproximadamente 165 kD, pero es de 110 kD en su estado desglicosilado. Se ha predecido una masa de 117.239 Daltons basado en la secuencia de aminoácidos predicha del ADNc de la figura (SEC ID Nos: 15 y 16). Incluye péptidos que tiene las secuencias de aminoácidos Phe-Ala-Ala-Thr-Gln-Phe-Glu-Pro-Leu-Ala-Ala (sec id NO: 1) y Ile-Leu-Gln-Asn-Gln-Ile-Gln-Gln-Gln-Thr-Arg-Thr-As p-Glu-Gly-Xaa-Pro-Xaa-Met (SEC ID NO: 2) y se enlaza con los anticuerpos producidos contra el péptido identificado como (SEC ID NO: 1). También se reclaman los moduladores y un método para el tratamiento de síndrome de la resistencia a la insulina, que incluye la diabetes, mediante la administracion de tal modulador.
