Abstract
Se proporciona un aparato para separacion gravitacional y se proporciona el procedimiento que comprende una columna empacada que contiene un material y que tiene medios para vibrar la columna empacada y las partículas presentes en la misma. El aparato para separacion gravitacional permite separacion eficiente y eficaz de partículas solidas que tengan diferentes densidades. El procedimiento comprende, de preferencia, el acondicionamiento de una pulpa acuosa de mineral con un dispersante y la alimentacion de la pulpa acuosa dispersa en una entrada dentro de la seccion intermediaria de la columna empacada y formando allí un lecho de alta densidad de partículas de alta densidad en una porcion inferior de la columna, y la formacion de un lecho de baja densidad de partículas de baja densidad en una porcion superior de la columna. Se remueven los deslaves del extremo superior de la columna y se remueven de fondo de la columna, los minerales concentrados que tengan niveles elevados de ganga. El aparato y el procedimiento son especialmente utiles en la separacion de partículas de sílice que tengan partículas de tamaño pequeño de partículas de minerales de hierro que tengan partículas de tamaño pequeño.
