Abstract

Se revela un nuevo método para preparar sílice precipitado que tenga una buena dispersibilidad y propiedades de refuerzo altamente satisfactorias. También se revelan nuevos sílices precipitados en forma de polvo, de gránulos o de cuentas substancialmente esféricas. Dichos sílices se caracterizan por tener un área de superficie específica CTAB de 90-250m2/g, una absorcion de aceite DOP de menos de 300 ml/100 g, una distribucion de poro, de manera que el volumen de poro que consiste en poros con un diámetro de 175-275 A sea menor de 50% del volumen de poro que consiste en poros con un diámetro de al menos 400 A y un contenido de zinc de 1-5% en peso, y que, en el numero N de moléculas de ácido esteárico consumido por nm2 de la superficie de sílice, cuando se reacciona el ácido esteárico con dicho sílice xileno durante 2 horas a 120 degree C, sea de al menos 1. Además, se revela el uso de dichos sílices como rellenos de refuerzo para elastomeros, en particular para propiciar las propiedades reologicas de los mismos.
