Abstract

La presente invencion provee un procedimiento para la preparacion de un copolímero de poliacetal térmicamente muy estable que tiene terminales inestables muy pequeñas con un alto rendimiento de polimerizacion, con la copolimerizacion de trioxano como el principal monomero, con un comonomero copolimerizable con el mismo, en donde un isopoliácido o una sal ácida del mismo se usa como catalizador de polimerizacion; el catalizador puede simplemente ser desactivado en una pequeña cantidad de una solucion desactivadora después de la polimerizacion; y no se requiere el paso del lavado; la copolimerizacion se efectua con un isopoliácido o una sal ácida del mismo usado como un catalizador de polimerizacion hasta que los monomeros residuales lleguen a un máximo de 10% en peso de todos los monomeros alimentados, y se agrega una solucion que contiene un desactivador para los catalizadores anteriores en una cantidad de 0.01 a 10% en peso, con base en el polímero bruto resultante, para desactivar el catalizador, seguido por sometimiento del polímero bruto intacto a un tratamiento de fusion por calor sin lavarlo.
