Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento mediante el cual una resina polimérica (que contiene enlaces éster y/o carbonato) es fácilmente convertida en una resina que tiene una estructura molecular modificada. En consecuencia, se transesterifica un carbonato cíclico (un monomero u oligomero) con la resina polimérica en la fusion, preferiblemente después de extrusion, eventualmente en presencia de un catalizador. De forma significativa, el carbonato cíclico, que puede incluir cualquiera de una variedad de grupos funcionales puede, mediante el procedimiento de la invencion, ser insertado en la estructura del polímero, efectuando una modificacion en la estructura y las propiedades de la resina.
