Abstract

Un método y un aparato para formar cavidades en la superficie interior de ruedas moldeadas para vehículos. El aparato incluye un molde para ruedas que tiene un nucleo superior el cual tiene una pluralidad de aberturas formadas a través del mismo. Nucleos moviles son portados en las aberturas de nucleo superior. Un mecanismo se encuentra montado en el nucleo superior para extender alternadamente los nucleos a la cavidad de moldeo y llevar los nucleos a las aberturas. Para formar una rueda los nucleos moviles se extienden y el material fundido se introduce en la cavidad de moldeo. Los nucleos moviles forman cavidades en la pieza moldeada de rueda resultante. Después de que la pieza moldeada se ha enfriado lo suficiente, los nucleos moviles se retiran de las cavidades permitiendo que el nucleo superior sea retirada de la pieza moldeada de rueda. La pieza moldeada se retira entonces del molde.
