Abstract

Se linealiza un discriminador de frecuencia óptica Mach Zehnder desbalanceado (20), para suprimir la distorsión no lineal de tercer orden. Se mete una portadora óptica que se modula en una frecuencia óptica, a un interferómetro Mach Zehnder desbalanceado (20) para discriminar las señales de información de radiofrecuencia llevadas sobre la portadora. El interferómetro Mach Zehnder tiene un punto operativo ajustable. El punto operativo se ajusta hasta un punto en donde la intensidad de salida del interferómetro Mach Zehnder (20) no es mayor de aproximadamente el 10 por ciento de su valor máximo. Con el objeto de eliminar los problemas con la distorsión de segundo orden, la portadora óptica se modula con señales de radiofrecuencia que no ocupan más que una sola octava. El punto operativo del dispositivo se puede ajustar mediante el ajuste de una fuerza eléctrica del mismo (28) mediante el ajuste de la longitud de onda de la portadora óptica (27), o mediante el ajuste de la temperatura del dispositivo (25, 29).
