Abstract
Un quemador de premezcla tiene un pleno mezclador, una trampa de llamas y un panal de cerámica dispuestos en serie. El pleno mezclador tiene cámaras interna y externa, con una boquilla mezcladora para la introducción de un combustible gaseoso localizada concéntricamente dentro de la cámara interna. El quemador es operado ya sea con mucho aire de exceso o recirculación de gases de chimenea o de combustión para producir una llama de baja temperatura en una cara de llama definida por el panal. La mezcla perfecta de aire y combustible asegura una llama con proporciones homogéneas de aire a combustible a través de la cara de llama, produciendo niveles bajos de NOx. El panal y la trampa de llamas funcionan también como detenedores de llama para prevenir el retroceso de llamas del quemador. También se divulga un método para lograr una llama baja en NOx y de baja temperatura usando aire de exceso, con o sin recirculación de gases de combustión.
