Abstract

In another embodiment, a fungus that is a natural termite repellent is used, such as M. anisoipliae which serves to prevent termites from entering an area protected by the repellent fungus. Entomopathogenic fungus, alone or in combination with a fungus bait is provided in the form of an infection chamber or formulated with a nutrient composition that is administered directly into inhabited galleries or into the termite nest to initiate infection, transmission and mortality of the colonies. The examples demonstrate the control of termites using chambers containing M. anisopliae and B. bassiana.
