Abstract

Un proceso y aparato de medición a escala referencial para determinar los parámetros operativos, tales como los máximos de temperatura y tiempo de residencia, requeridos para remover un contaminante específico a una profundidad determinada durante un proceso de desabsorción térmica a plena escala, incluye medir una temperatura de una muestra representativa de tierra contaminada a una profundidad determinada como una función de tiempo de residencia durante un proceso de desabsorción térmica para medición referencial. El aparato incluye un recipiente (80) para contener la muestra de tierra (78), al menos un separador (84) colocado entre las capas adyacentes de la muestra (78) y al menos un termoacoplador (86) colocado entre cada capa de la muestra de tierra (78). Al determinar los parámetros operativos, el flujo térmico, capacidad de absorción, difusividad térmica y conductividad térmica pueden ser determinados durante el proceso de escala referencial y utilizados para pronosticar los parámetros operativos del proceso en plena escala.
